Abstract:

Recently Abbasbandy and Hajjari (Computers and Mathematics with Applications57 (2009) 413-419) have introduced a ranking method for the trapezoidalfuzzy numbers. This paper extends theirs method to all fuzzy numbers, which uses from a defuzzication of fuzzy numbers and a general weightingfunction. Extended method is interesting for ranking all fuzzy numbers, and itcan be applied for solving and optimizing engineering and economics problemsin a fuzzy environment.

Ranking method of trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy numbers

In this paper, considers the usage of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers in decision making. The values and ambiguities of the membership degree and the non-membership degree for trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy number are defined as well as the value-index and ambiguity-index. The proposed ranking method is easily implemented and has a natural interpretation. 2010 AMS Classification: 47S20, 03E72

A method to obtain trapezoidal approximations of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers from trapezoidal approximations of fuzzy numbers

Abstract The well-known Karush-Kuhn-Tucker theorem can be used, as in the fuzzy case, to find the trapezoidal approximation of a given intuitionistic fuzzy number. The method is quite technical such that obtaining the trapezoidal approximation of an intuitionistic fuzzy numbers from the trapezoidal approximation of a fuzzy number is proposed in the present paper. Among the advantages of this me...

A new distance and ranking method for trapezoidal fuzzy numbers

This study presents an approximate approach for ranking fuzzy numbers based on the centroid point of a fuzzy number and its area. The total approximate is determined by convex combining of fuzzy number’s relative and its area that based on decision maker’s optimistic perspectives. The proposed approach is simple in terms of computational efforts and is efficient in ranking a large quantity of f...

Ranking Exponential Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers with Cardinality

In this paper, we want to represent a method for ranking of two exponential trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. In this study a new Cardinality between exponential trapezoidal fuzzy numbers is proposed. Cardinality in this method is relatively simple and easier in computation and ranks various types of exponential fuzzy numbers. For the validation the results of the proposed approach are compared with d...

Solving Fuzzy Transportation Problem using Ranking of Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers

Ranking fuzzy numbers play a vital role in decision making problems, data analysis and socio economics systems. Ranking fuzzy numbers is a necessary step in many mathematical models. Many of the methods proposed so far are non-discriminating. This paper presents a new ranking method and using which we convert the fuzzy transportation problem to a crisp valuedtransportation problem which then ca...

A novel parametric ranking method for intuitionistic fuzzy numbers

Since the inception of intuitionistic fuzzy sets in 1986, many authors have proposed different methods for ranking intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IFNs). How ever, due to the complexity of the problem, a method which gives a satisfactory result to all situations is a challenging task. Most of them contained some shortcomings, such as requirement of complicated calculations, inconsistency with hum...
